The Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development Celebrates Retirees

ST. MICHAELS, ARIZONA – The Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development hosts drive-thru retirement luncheon to celebrate five (5) Navajo Nation employees. On Thursday, September 30, 2021, the division recognized Bertha Aguirre, Dolly Lane, Albert Lee, Anthony Little, and Ernest Pahe for their selfless efforts contributed to the division over the years. The division also congratulated Shammie Begay, who dedicated many years to the Navajo Nation Office of Legislative Services as the Legislative Advisor for the Resources and Development Committee. Despite the weather conditions, Navajo Nation President, Jonathan Nez, Vice President, Myron Lizer, and the newly crowned Miss Navajo Nation, Niagara Rockbridge, joined the celebration to wish retirees well as they begin a new journey, “thank you for your service, we pray for your health and safety” said President Nez.

As the fiscal year comes to an end and the retirees begin to enjoy their new chapter, we look forward to new beginnings and continued efforts for the Navajo Economy. “We are appreciative to our retirees and their families. The contributions of their work will forever have an impact on our division and the progress towards economic development. We are thankful for the years of dedication and will continue the efforts on their behalf.” says executive director, JT Willie. The division would also like to thank those who contributed to the success of our Retirement Luncheon, without the support from Navajo Shopping Centers, Inc. Navajo Arts and Crafts Enterprise, and the Division of Economic Development this event would not have been possible. It is with the utmost respect and sincere gratitude that we wish a happy retirement to all retirees of the Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development.
